September
Woodworkers cottage in the Bavarian Forest National Park, about a 1 hour walk from Bayerisch Eisenstein. Excellent food at very reasonable prices, pond and animals.
September is usually a golden month in the mountains of the Bavarian Forest. The deciduous trees change colour against the dark green background, the weather is still mostly warm and sunny during the day.
This is the main walking season in the mountains and the views are tremendous.
There are still festivals going on - the Munich Oktoberfest starts well before the end of September - some guests have done day trips but we have to admit that it is a long way from here. As one of our guests said:
"I felt very fortunate to have such a lovely, quiet place to return to in the evenings after long days of drinking at Oktoberfest or sightseeing elsewhere."
Weather in September 2007/8/9:
- Average daytime temperature: 19°C
- Average nightime temperature: 9 °C.
- Average number of days with rain: 8
