October is a month of contrasts - still golden autumn at the beginning of the month but by the end the leaves have all gone and there can be early snow falls. But the walking is still good. And the cities are quieter than in the busy summer months.
The tourist attractions and restaurants are mostly open until the end of October/beginning of November. Then it is the quiet time of the year.
