The New Year starts with fireworks at midnight, all over the village and on our terrace, with glasses of Sekt (German sparkling wine) and Gluehwein for all our guests. There is usually good snow for skiing all through January.
From the weekend after New Year when the school holidays end, the village is almost deserted for 3 weeks, until the last weekend in January when the German school half term holidays start, usually staggered over a 4-6 week period.
